A gift from the JamFactory will get you out of a pickle this Christmas

By Neena Bhandari

Seeking unique personalised gifts this Christmas? The JamFactory has a broad range of creative Australian designed and crafted gifts to suit all budgets.

The KINK oil and vinegar bottles and ceramic tableware from the JamFactory product range, and the original handcrafted pieces of jewellery and furniture by Australian artisans are a particular favourite this festive season.

Designed by Deb Jones for the JamFactory, the KINK oil and vinegar bottles in lime, olive and clear hues are made using traditional glass blowing techniques, adding a sense of delight to the ergonomics of pouring oil and vinegar.

Similarly, THROWN dinnerware made with terracotta and stoneware blend sourced from the Adelaide Hills and glazed and fired in the JamFactory ceramics studio would make a thoughtful gift for any home. Other useful homeware gift products include the American White Oak Chop board designed by Jon Goulder and the ceramic bowls created by Damon Moon.

Each handcrafted object has a distinctive flair and comes at a competitive price of between $45 and $300.

Whether it is Mel Fraser’s Hole glass paperweight in green, yellow and blue and Tegan Empson’s Beach paperweight or Stephen Roy’s Hansha sturdy handmade stool or Regina Schwatzer’s geometric silver rings set with semi-precious stones, each item is finely crafted to the highest standards.

Over the years, the JamFactory has won international recognition for its inspirational and practical art objects in glass, ceramics, metal and furniture.

New to the JamFactory range this season is the brass FOLD card holder created by Alice Potter. She says, “Designing jewellery and metal objects for JamFactory gives me exposure to the kind of discerning clientele I want to attract to my work”.

The proceeds from the sale of JamFactory products are used to nurture the careers of artisans and promote new design techniques.

If you are passionate about handmade Australian products and want to make a difference, the JamFactory at Morphett Street is the one stop shop. Most of its products are also available Online.
